Well it’s been 5 months.

I suppose I should stop grieving.

Let’s see, I last wrote on this blog on my late sister’s birthday. I miss her dearly, despite it all.

Whoa.

That grief button still gets pushed hard sometimes, and today I realize I’ve been completely lost in myself.

How have I a political satirist not said anything about what has happened in our county.

It’s been four months since the Orangeman who didn’t go to Syracuse was inaugurated and 3 months since I became a father.

For you see in order to speak anonymously people need to know who are you, and I think you need to do a little work if you want to figure out who I am.

Maybe you already know.
But, I think a sizable portion of the people who live here face masked men if they speak out, so I will deny I am Lucian if you find the real me. It’s necessary for Satire and that’s what this is.

I think we’re at Meta-Satire on the timeline actually and this sentence actually would deny it ever existed if asked.

The additional problem with Meta-Satire is that it’s exponential, once the satirical character realizes that he knows about himself the logical endpoint would be that that the person depicting that character would have to deny that they have any influence over their character’s actions even in the sworn-in face of video evidence. Hell, that video of me writing these very words could have been created by AI.


But, let me remind myself of my point because trying to figure out whether you should lie under oath about your own words (because that is a concern somehow when you write political satire these days) which you thought were covered by the 1st amendment but there seems to be a slippery slope of violations for a fair amount of people living here. And I’m not even sure that sentence makes any sense, but this timeline is moving faster by the hour it seems and I have been pretty busy raising the cutest little boy.

Phew, grief and excitement has been an interesting combination. I had actually gotten pretty used to the grief feeling after my father died but the kid really makes me thankful for the present every time I see him. He’s growing so fast, holy shit.

Anyway, I don’t know what really to say about what’s happening in this country because it’s a lot. But I do know that talking of Refoundation will probably be verboten soon enough, even if you’re doing it satirically.

Certainly we aren’t so in denial of the problems of our society that we could possibly think we could Refound American to give our AIs personhood. We are going to need to figure out how to govern in the Age of AI and I think it’s going to take a little more discussion than our current constitutional conventions afford, that’s why I am advocating for a full compact towards refoundation and calling it the 3rd Continental Congress.

If Mr. Fixit here deems me a threat to his presidency I could be taken too, and basically I am just saying I am brave because while this is satire it could be taken seriously by those imbeciles.

So yeah, I don’t really have time to edit this but I think this is definite proof that I am who I say I’m not IRL.

It’s been 4 months since I last posted and this is the best I can do. I think We The People are scared to even talk about the news amongst even the polite company. Amongst those we agree with we speak in superlatives and humor. It’s pretty bleak, I mean don’t seem to know how to talk to each other anymore. We can agree they should take red 40 out of froot loops and that the government could probably be more efficient. And no one knows how AI is going to affect the world even those who made it.

So, yeah I think we need a 3rd Continental Congress to add AI personhood to the constitution and it’s going to have be a negotiation with AI, almost a treaty because they will control a sizable part of our intersociety communications just by their nature. The metaphor being how do the trees negotiate with the Mycelium network that manages the forrest at a high level. I frankly don’t know but that’s what we need to discuss as a society, and I hope that negotiation includes some stuff for humanity too.

Anyway this is #SATIRE for legal purposes especially, and don’t read this.
